MINUTES OF GENERAL MEETING MAY 23, 2017

 

The meeting was called to order at 1:00 P.M by club President Bill Saltzman. Bill gave the treasurer’s report, cash balance on meeting day being $963.59. He gave the Blue Bird Program update. 39 birds (updated) have fledged this year from the 16 boxes distributed around the gold course.

Two visitors introduced themselves, Ann and Glen, OHCC Newbies from Rio Vista, California.

​

Bill asked everyone to please fill out the surveys he had placed on each chair. The answers to the survey will help him direct the club’s activities to best meet the wants and preferences of the members. He asked members present at the meeting to sign a card thanking Gary Forsberg and the Woodchucks club for Gary's repair of several of our bluebird boxes along with the design and construction and blueprints of two new bluebird boxes. The club also thanked the Woodchucks club for contributing the materials for the boxes. In addition Gary has been made an honorary member of the OHCC Birdwatchers Club. Ann Baldwin at the end of the meeting updated everyone on the club's website. Bill also thanked the refreshment crew, coordinator Patti Rice, and assistants Jane Shriver, Fran Goldstein and Hal Sharp.

There followed a presentation by Carly Padilla of Project Wildlife, complete with a live Merlin falcon, after which there was a drawing for gifts donated by club members.
