Ramona Grasslands, January 29, 2022.  Conditions Overcast.

This walk featured 2 distinct areas that offered some wonderful variety.   There were 10 of us on this walk.

First, we made several stops along Rangeland Road observing the Ramona Grasslands Preserve.  Without question the "bird of the day" was a bald eagle that we first observed from afar perching atop a telephone pole, which then graced us with a majestic flight across the prairie towards us and beyond.

Also in the grasslands, we saw flocks of canada geese flying about and landing in the water.

Other notables of the day were at the park:  an Osprey, a Red-shouldered hawk that perched in a nearby tree so we could see it very clearly.  We also saw and heard acorn woodpeckers.  Our complete list is below along with select photos (courtesy of Joan Comito).
